Environmental impact

Medicom is firmly committed to environmental sustainability and is implementing initiatives to minimise its impact on the environment and climate.

Our commitments

Preservation of natural resources

The manufacture of single-use medical devices requires the consumption of resources such as water, energy and raw materials. By minimising this impact, we preserve these resources and use them more sustainably.

Eco-responsible design

We work to design products that use fewer materials, while guaranteeing their quality and efficiency.

Use of recyclable and recycled materials

We favour the use of materials of recycled origin and materials that can be recycled after use, reducing the need to produce new materials from virgin resources.

Waste and packaging management

We strive to reduce the amount of waste produced and the amount of plastic used in our packaging, giving preference to recyclable packaging and biodegradable materials.

Pollution prevention

Some materials can be toxic for the environment if they are disposed of incorrectly. Improving the way we manage our waste enables us to prevent soil, water and air pollution.

By adopting these initiatives, we minimise our environmental impact while providing safe, high-quality products that comply with standards and regulations.

Our work

Mass Balance approach

Concerned about its ecological footprint, Medicom is the first company to have developed a range of masks made from recycled materials using the Mass Balance approach.

The Mass Balance approach is a unique process that enables recycled materials to be mixed with fossil materials at the start of the production chain, while retaining identical properties. As a result, some of our masks are made from 70% recycled materials, while maintaining filtration capacity and excellent comfort for the wearer.

Mask Life Cycle Analysis

As a leading manufacturer of single-use protection, we are fully committed to local production and sustainable development.

As proof of our determination to control our environmental impact, in 2023 we carried out a life cycle analysis of our TIIR Kolmi medical device mask, which is manufactured in France.

The result: it has a much lower environmental impact than a similar mask produced in Asia.

This study was carried out by the EVEA consultancy and validated by Professor Guido Sonnemann, a recognised expert in this field.

Box Eco Logic Recycling

Our French PPE recycling solution in partnership with EcoLogic Recyclage: the Eco Logic Recyclage Box.

Using this box means you can :

  • Reduce the amount of waste landfilled or incinerated
  • Preserve non-renewable natural resources
  • Contribute to improving CSR policy

Green server

Our website is hosted on a green server. Green servers are installed in such a way as to reduce the environmental footprint of digital technology, since they are equipped with a cooling system that uses outside air and consumes less energy.

Here are the various advantages of green servers:

  • Reduced carbon footprint: 0.048 kWh/d power consumption
  • Low power consumption of server components
  • Recycling of IT waste and reprocessing of electrical equipment
  • Electricity from clean energy sources: 100% renewable energies
