FFP1 Masks
FFP1 masks provide reliable respiratory protection against non-toxic dusts and airborne particles commonly encountered in work environments. Manufactured in France, these models combine comfort, safety, and sustainability through the use of recycled materials.
Medicom also offers FFP2 and FFP3 masks, ensuring the right level of filtration for every professional setting.
What Is an FFP1 Mask?
An FFP1 respirator is a personal protective device compliant with EN 149 standards.
It filters at least 80 % of airborne particles, shielding the wearer from non-toxic dusts.
Designed for moderately dusty environments — construction sites, workshops, light manufacturing — it balances simplicity, breathability, and dependable protection. In other words, it’s a straightforward solution for everyday safety.
The Advantages of Medicom FFP1 Masks
Medicom’s FFP1 masks stand apart through their dual certification (Medical Device and PPE Cat. III), their French manufacturing, and the integration of up to 70 % recycled materials. Each mask delivers lasting comfort thanks to soft, latex-free fabrics and carefully tensioned cross-straps that adapt naturally to the wearer’s face. That’s what ensures steady protection through an entire shift.
Certified Comfort and Safety
Built for extended wear, Medicom’s disposable FFP1 masks combine flexibility with performance. The adjustable nose clip enhances fit and minimizes leakage, while filtration efficiency is verified through rigorous testing for breathability and resistance. Whether on a factory floor or in a maintenance role, users can rely on certified, consistent protection — day after day.
Responsible Manufacturing
At Medicom, mask production goes beyond safety — it’s part of a sustainability commitment. Through the Mass Balance process, up to 70 % of the polymers used come from recycled sources, lowering fossil-fuel consumption and overall carbon impact. Made in France at our Angers facilities, these FFP1 masks embody both industrial independence and traceability. That’s how reliability takes shape.
When to Use an FFP1 Mask
An FFP1 protective mask is intended for low-contamination environments containing non-hazardous particles. It’s ideal for everyday tasks such as cleaning, sweeping, DIY projects, or light industrial maintenance — where dust levels remain modest. Lightweight, foldable, and easy to fit, it offers effective defense against non-toxic dust while keeping breathing effortless.
FFP1 masks are not suitable for infectious agents or for exposure to toxic dusts or vapors. They’re designed for routine protection, not for high-risk settings.
How to Choose Your FFP1 Mask
Selecting the right FFP1 mask means considering comfort and working conditions. Medicom’s medium-size design fits most users, with flexible nose clips and cross-straps that improve seal and reduce air leaks.
Our FFP1 models are valve-free, ensuring uniform filtration and environmental protection. Their structure maintains airflow even during long wear periods, keeping the face cool and breathing easy.
💡 Choose a model suited to your activity — one that guarantees comfort, reliability, and efficiency from start to finish.
Wearing Time and Best Practices
According to the INRS guidelines, an FFP1 disposable mask should be worn for no more than eight hours in a single workday. In hot conditions, shorten continuous use to about one hour before taking a break.
Replace the mask as soon as it becomes moist, damaged, or uncomfortable.
Never reuse a single-use respirator — filtration capacity drops quickly after removal.
For storage, keep masks in a dry, ventilated place (15–25 °C), away from light and dust.
Following these few simple rules ensures consistent respiratory protection throughout the day.

Frequently Asked Questions About FFP1 Masks
What’s the Difference Between an FFP1 Mask and a Surgical Mask?
A surgical mask protects the surroundings from droplets emitted by the wearer, while an FFP1 mask protects the wearer from inhaling airborne particles. In short, one safeguards others; the other safeguards you.
Can an FFP1 Mask Be Reused?
No. FFP1 masks are disposable and intended for single-use only. Once worn for a work shift — or if soiled or damp — they must be replaced. Reusing one significantly reduces its effectiveness.
What’s the Difference Between FFP “R” and “NR” Masks?
The mark “NR” (Non-Reusable) means the mask is designed for a single work shift, typically less than eight hours. “R” (Reusable) indicates that the respirator can be worn again after cleaning and inspection as per the manufacturer’s instructions. Medicom FFP1 masks are classified “NR”, ensuring optimal hygiene and consistent performance.
Are FFP1 Masks Recyclable?
At Medicom, we work to reduce environmental impact through the Mass Balance method and the Eco Logic Box program — a collection and recycling service for used PPE. While FFP1 masks remain single-use, their lifecycle can be optimized for a more sustainable disposal approach.
